How long does it take to purchase a home?

Once we find your dream home, we will make an offer and if accepted by the seller a contract will be drawn up.  Once both parties agree to terms in writing, it typically takes 30 days to close. 

 

How much money do I need for a down payment to purchase a home? 

The amount of money needed for a down payment varies from customer to customer and requires a thorough discussion with a mortgage professional.  An FHA mortgage, one of the most popular mortgages programs, requires only 3.5% of the purchase price of the home as a down payment.

 

How do I get pre-approved to purchase a home? Do you know any lenders?

Our preferred lending partner will review your finances and if you qualify, will issue a mortgage pre-approval letter.

 

What is Earnest Money and when is that due?

Earnest money is a good faith deposit made to the seller to demonstrate that the applicant is serious about completing the transaction. This can range on average from 1% - 3% of the purchase price.

 

Is an attorney required to close on a house?

In the state of South Carolina, an attorney is required for closing, however they are not required to review the purchase agreement (ie.attorney review).
